BTW - I'm still juiced by them everytime I listen to it. I love what you did with the toms, the riffs & accents - and the final sound of that snare (it rings & sings now).

But I think I'm going to put this one to bed. The slide work I shared with Keeper was already done deal for the intro/ending and second lead - but I had also recorded another straight lead guitar before I left town to let my friends hear a whole song (most folks would rather hear bad guitar work than 8 bars of rhythm guitar, lol); and it has grown on me.

So I'm going to retrack small bits on both guitars that didn't quite pass muster and put up a finished master along with the separates.

I'm currently loaded up with cold medicine and going offline to get this done. Hopefully, I will get it posted sometime this evening.

I'm ready to move on to other bits I was planning (or had promised) for a couple of the other projects going on here; and as soon as I am recovered need to get back to work on several of my own.

I truly appreciate all contributions and efforts on this song, and hope you guys will be pleased with the end result.

I pray you get your tech issues resolved without a lot of headaches, Keeper. I know what a killer of inspiration that can be... and there's more to come here on F-Jam that can't proceed without you.

Cheers!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-769517905722955579.post-15491023639912953612009-04-15T09:48:00.000-07:002009-04-15T09:48:00.000-07:00Well I will try not to go into too much detail bec...Well I will try not to go into too much detail because I know you have your own issues to work with Moose.

It is indeed an M-Audio card. It's a Delta 1010 LT, which has 10 channels to record on simultaneously. Really it has never given me the problems that the one that is sitting on my shelf has. I did experience the IO and interrupt thing you mentioned with the one that is on the shelf, but this 1010LT has been a dream card for me.

It doesn't help that I have 3 cards on this machine. I think I've gotten a lot of the problems sorted out by killing apps in the background, and working with the audio config in Sonar.

Now I have the problem with the "realstrat" vsti I'm using not going up high enough in the octaves..... I guess if I were playing this on a real guitar it'd be using the cut away in the body so I could go way up on the fretboard. I hit the keys on the keyboard to play the notes I'm hearing on my head and the are not going up there after a certain cutoff. So what I did is let it play lower and then manually adjusted the pitch to be in the cutaway octave I was playing. I got it to do the note but had to do it the hard way. I gotta jump into the manual for this vsti and see how to increase the octave spread for a cutaway. Being a guitar app it has to have the cutaway octaves....

Just some ideas why this is slowing me down.... And I stop too when I get frustrated and or tired cuz I don't do good work in that state...

The last note I hit in the licks I did around the chorus is the cut away part I had to adjust manually. So now I gotta stop and crack open the manual and find this octave adjustment.... Sheesh....

Earlier I had problems with guitar rig, but I seem to have gotten that worked out too...

It's a fight but I guess I gotta gp through this if I am going to be doing this stuff...

Check out what I'm talking about with this excerpt.

http://www.4shared.com/file/98710297/111d34b5/BARLead2-1.html<---Click thisKeeperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11173818751214958039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-769517905722955579.post-82463969248249850842009-04-15T09:19:00.000-07:002009-04-15T09:19:00.000-07:00Of course, I don't know what you're dealing with -...Of course, I don't know what you're dealing with - but I know (for example) some cards, like M-Audio, need to have a dedicated port; such as an unused printer port re-assigned in the BIOS to the card.

May have nothing to do with what you're up against. IMHO u need to have alot of songs and the main ones they seem to look for are in the pop and country genre. They do look for rock and others but not quite as much. I just posted it because I thought it fit well with this song. I think taxi could POSSIBLY work well with this online collab thing because we could actually tailor the songs to their current requests (due to the speed at which songs could be finished). I dont know how that would work with having a group of people though. They want you to outright own the song you are submitting so it would have to be some sort of group submission thing. Anyway, like I said, wasnt really pushing it. Just happened to read the email they sent me and it struck a chord with this song.MLINYHIhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01606324333560116212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-769517905722955579.post-30530662315523074012009-04-14T11:24:00.000-07:002009-04-14T11:24:00.000-07:00jamendo.com has a pretty agressive album sales pro...jamendo.com has a pretty agressive album sales program too.
