Something's Changing (Pop) FINISHED!

|Post A Message|

(V1)

This theatre of death means nothing at all

Tears are banished from these lonely halls

Every seat is empty when the curtain is down

There's no last kiss, no evening gowns

She'd trade it all in for something worthwhile

A moment in time; just one more smile

(Chorus)

It’s August and it feels like snow

Something’s changing

Her heart’s turned cold

Death was his name

He appeared one night

Something’s changing

Something’s not right

(V2)

Cornflower blue were her eyes

When they sparkle they'd light up the skies

Candy apple red she's a woman on fire

Giving into impulse and earthly desires

Painting by number the colors on her face

Burnt crimson brown becomes her embrace

She'd trade it all in for something worthwhile

A moment in time; just one more smile

(Chorus)

It’s August and it feels like snow

Something’s changing

Her heart’s turned cold

Death was his name

He appeared one night

Something’s changing

Something’s not right

(Chorus)

It’s August and it feels like snow

Something’s changing

Her heart’s turned cold

Death was his name

He appeared one night

Something’s changing

Something’s not right

(Bridge)

Time, precious time

Taken away

A savored moment

Another day

Time, precious time

Taken away

A savored moment

Another day

(Outro)

Two strangers

Passed in the night

He discards the gloves

Now blood white

Hey all
I'm open to any idea's on this one. It started with me playing around with the software synths I have but it's sounding quiet cool so it may be worth developing.

Thanks for the setup Fred

Thanks for the setup Fred

------------------------------------

It's not quite finished on the setup yet Ian, but I need to get the databases squared away to have it finalized. I am waiting for this eve to do that as it is less busy traffic wise on the site then. It is to a point where people can participate though. One last fix and I will post this new project via googlegroup.

No panic Fred

I see what you mean by "moody".

Ha Yep one of my darker days

I'd like to see the chords posted, (and key). It'd help the likes of me... LOL

HA!!! that's about the same point where it becomes very clear that I dont have a clue as to what I am doing LOL..... I just make this stuff up as I go along and play by ear but I can lift the notes from the midi listing and I would guess it starts and resolves on the route which will give a key.
The score editor is throwing out Dmin7/6/C and Bdim/F and Bmin7/D LOL
I will post a midi file of the main piano parts so you can have a play around and see what you think.

Ok Ian, not a problem really. It just helps me, as I am not that great with theory either. I will indeed try the chords you have supplied, and see what happens.

A lot of times I do the very same. I play by ear. The software can help us with this, as you have noted.

I would like to have the midi file to evaluate. A little of both (notation and playing by ear).

Like yourself I am mainly a drummer, and I do these things by ear. That is actually not a bad way to go, although I would like for myself a better understanding of the theory. So I keep chugging away at it and keep my eye, and ears open to learn something.

I had thought about having a go at some complementary guitar.

Thanks for the feedback... I like this piece...

Thanks Fred
The midi file is up now...just the piano to keep it clean.... my theory is well down and I do keep trying to apply myself but I recon it could be too late.... when ever I sit down and try to learn I find I am away creating another tune .... just no disapline LOL

I hear ya... Me too.

You don't seem to suffer too much on the creative front. It might be of good help in the communication side of things though. For both of us. We all know that notation is a good way of communicating the idea. It's not essential as we have both demonstrated, but it does make life easier, or it would anyhow...

LOL

LOL I know what you mean..... I had planned to take guitar lessons and get stuck in with basic music theory but the problem is that once you have jumped in with both feet as we both have ... where do you start so the lessons will still be interesting... I soon get side tracked and hate repetition so the thought of sitting practicing scales and playing "ten green bottles" or "when the saints" leaves me cold.
I would still rather being hitting the problem from where we are than be a classically trained musician without the ability to improvise or jam.... I have met a lot of those.

I am testing a simpler update system Ian. Have a look at the blog for this project.

I like the idea of a commercial wiki system for the updates, but I am not sure yet if PBwiki is it. Have a look see what ya think. I will give you edit rights in a few moments and you can see that aspect of this.

When the wiki is updated, it sends out notifications, so no need for the notify form I had in place...

The Admin said...

I sent you an invite to join the wiki Ian. Let me know if indeed this gives you the access to edit.

Stonehead said...

Yep just updated and saved.....very nice

The Admin said...

Try clicking the edit page button and edit in future plans, just to see it work Ian. You should be able to use your cookies to go right into edit next time you want to update. This really should streamline this part of it...

:-)

Stonehead said...

I have edited Fred...see if it has updated

The Admin said...

Well you updated the "Frontpage" with a pictur of you (nice looking kit), but that works fine as illustration that it lets you edit...

Should work equally well on your own project pages.

It also sent me an e-mail notification which I could easily forward to the google group.

The forwarding allows me to not let BS posts through.... So I'm liking this... 1 less step for you to notify everyone of updated status. Just edit and the notification happens... No extra form like before. And cookies makes use easy. If you stay logged in you can edit immediately....

I like.

It's a pretty neat wiki system...

Hey I like this! The revision history works too. You notice I went right back to the earlier version!

Nice for if we get messed up. Just delete the latest version and it jumps back...

You should be able to edit right from the blog page (inside the iframe), as opposed to editing from the PBwiki site. This is firefox friendly where my old system required IE. Another "plus".

The top window of the blog page has an "edit page" button on it that jumps you right into it.

I see it allows you to actually create pages too. Cool!

The I-Frame sits it nicely at the top of the blog Fred.....looks much better and with no silly time outs....not all of the edit features worked for me on the last system either
