Hi Keeper! Long time no see!
I had a bit of a jam to this track... nothing too serious. This song kind of reminds me of a cartoon jewel thief stealing from a museum.

Hi Lucky! Where ya been man? Have you been able to get onto the forums too?

I will fire up my monitors and have a listen... Thanks for jammin!

Hi Lucky-

In general I liked the "what", you played. It felt a little too hard for the feel in general though. At least where the flute stuff is. I agree about the thief soundtrack feel. My intutition tells me to try softening your effects and try it? A lot of what you did felt pretty good to me on this. Maybe just a little too hard edged.

Also: I have the separates for this if you'd like to have them and have a go like you do at some arrangement ideas. If you brainstormed a change or two it'd help. I can add more upright bass and jazz drums to whatever changes you might come up with. I'm open to your explorations as always... Ejoy yourself, and try intuition. Sometimes we don't really know what works until we try it right?

Let me know if you'd like the seps posted. Thanks for your participation! Hnag around a little man!

:-P

Haha, yeah the style is a bit odd! It was just a quick jam that I did. I kind of liked how it sounded erratic... like how a theif would move about. I could probably something a bit more controled. The settings I used were fairly dry I thought? I turned off the delay and chorus etc. Do you mean that I should cut the highs a bit more?

Well I am not a guitarist, and I am responding just by my gut instincts Lucky. If I had to try to refine what I am saying, I'd probably say go more toward a jazz feel? Maybe I mean blues/jazz? I detected a hint of jazz in there. That felt pretty good I think. Less chainsaw?

You want separates?

Oh ok... I think I get what you mean. I'll try and soften it down a bit more and make it more rhythmic. I'm not really much good at playing jazz, but I'll give it a shot! For some reason Booker T and the Mg's keeps floating through my mind... must be something to with the bassline! Haha!

Sounds like a plan Lucky. There are not many that are good a jazz. I sure don't count myself amongst them...

Booker T & The MGs is not too far off I guess. It is a meltingpot. Blues/jazz, with a smidge of rock. The rock being to a lesser degree...

You are welcome to take it in another direction if you feel it. That is why I offered the seps.

I have been talking gut feeling, and I could be wrong. I sure wouldn't say you are wrong in what you've said.... Have fun...

I dont think i'll need the seperates Keeper. I don't have any huge ideas for this. I'll just have a bit of a jam and then post some seperates up for you or someone else to chop and edit them as you/they wish.
